Day 2: Bic lickers

The first full day of Emery and Scott Hawaii Trip started out well. I woke up and spent sometime watching a surfer on our balcony. The stillness of the morning was perfect and relaxing.

My aunt and cousin had a good morning as well they said that they used their spa at their resort.

After my mom was up the Emery's started the day with English muffin egg sandwiches. Once everyone was fed and ready we head over to meet the Scott's. We were going to Kapaa where there is a bike shop that rents 2 bikes for ten dollars for an hour. There is a bike path on the coast with beautiful views.

The bikes were really fun. We went a few miles up and there were interesting things to see. Ocean and beach as well as historic things like the old power plants, rice farms and a train rail that used to bring all the yummy fruit grown in Hawaii to the coast right out into the water so the train cars could be loaded quickly. We took a few pictures here.

After riding for a while we turned around and went back. We stopped on the way for a late lunch. I had delicious quesdillas at Paco's tacos while Karen, Bre, Tyler and Melissa had Greek, Caitlin and Bernie had smoothies.

Then after that we went back even more and found some swings that swung out towards the ocean. We all stopped and a few of us got some pictures.

Upon returning our bikes, uncle Jim, Bernie and Tyler took one car to go to a snorkel place and the girls another for more groceries. The boys ended up knocked over two bikes and a large sign backing out of the parking lot. How embarrassing!

I will not tell you about grocery shopping except to say that after the boys joined us Tyler put a pumpkin in the cart and it took aunt Karen and mom until checkout to notice. Bazinga.
